Hayiali Teej is famous Indian festival which is celebrated on third day of the bright half of the
North Indian Lunar month of Shraavana month in August. Hariyali Teej festival is also celebrated
for the reunion of lord shiva and godess parvati, on this is the day lord shiva accepted goddess
parvati as his wife.
Hariyali Teej also known as sindhara Teej because on this day married daughters receive gifts
from their mother such as bangles, clothes mehndi, bindi, ghevar (Famous sweet of this season)
as Teej gift named as sindhara

In Rajasthan Teej festival celebrated by the marwadi communities of Rajasthan, Marwari women
wear bangles and bindi on this festival occasion, swings put on trees and women, girls enjoy
swings.
After enjoying swings all women enjoyed special lunch organized by women for themselves.
According to the Rajasthan tradition a married woman would go to her mother house for Teej and
come back after rakhi. Daughters spend Teej with their parents.

On Teej festival people celebrate swing festival names as (jhulan leela) also known as jhulan
Which is associated with lord Krishna and radha rani ji, this jhulan leela celebrated at Banke
Bihari temple in vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh), During this jhulan festival devotees decorate the
temple with flowers and the setup a swing in the temple premises on which radha rani ji and
Krishna ji enjoy the swing, then in the evening devotees perform aarti & prayers in the temple,
This jhulan utsav lasts for 13 days until janmashtami. It is a very famous old saying that on Teej
festival krishan ji specially went to barsana village to enjoy swing with radha rani ji.
As jhulan utsav and hariyali Teej both celebrated on the same day, as hariyali Teej is dedicated
to lord shiva and goddess parvati & jhulan utsav is dedicated to Krishna ji and radha ji.
As hariyali Teej comes in rainy season during which greenery spread all around and weather
also. Turn from hot to cool, rainy season is also season of romance during which married couples like
to stay with each other and enjoy the weather with love. So in India people in different states
celebrates this hariyali Teej festival according to their traditions and enjoyed a lot.
